11/25/2024 Good afternoon, Eaton families! Here is your Monday Minute for the week of November 25th. 1) We want to wish everyone a safe and fun Thanksgiving break. We do not have school Wednesday through Friday this week. 2) Giving Tuesday starts tomorrow. We will collect donations from Tuesday, November 26th to Tuesday, December 3rd to support Old Fort Elementary in North Carolina this year. They were impacted by the flooding in September. Donations of gently used books for their library, general classroom supplies, and teacher supplies will be accepted. 3) Santa is coming to our school on December 10th. If you would like a class or individual photo with Santa, please see the red flyer that went home today. https://5il.co/3132h We are asking that students prepay for this by December 3rd so we can plan appropriately. 4) We are planning our “Principals Night In” for Monday, December 9th. Flyers (https://5il.co/3132c) went home last week so RSVP if you can attend https://forms.office.com/r/ehtW2dRTys. New Providence Baptist Church will be providing dinner. We will gather parent feedback and have a presentation from Detective Carver of the Loudon County Sheriff’s office on internet safety for kids. 5) We have several opportunities in December for volunteering https://bit.ly/2024EESVolSignup. We have retake picture day, candy grams, Santa pictures, and a winter blast party that need parent volunteers. 6) We are also looking for donations for the Staff Elf Hunt https://a.co/bqZmmKT , potluck meal donations for Dec. 13th https://bit.ly/EESDipBar24, and potluck donations for a drink and sweets bar https://bit.ly/EESdrinksweet24 on Dec. 18th. 7) 2nd semester LAUNCH information went home today on yellow paper. To celebrate completing the novel, Because of Winn-Dixie our 3rd graders had a dog party just like the one in the book. They enjoyed Dump punch, egg salad sandwiches, peanut butter, pickles, and the famous Littmus Lozenges. The students enjoyed learning unlikely friendships are a beautiful thing. 🐾💝
