Good afternoon, Eaton families!
1. We finish TNReady testing tomorrow with 2nd grade. Our staff and students have worked extremely hard each day of the test. Thank you to the proctors who came and helped each day to make it run smoothly.
2. Teacher Appreciation is May 5-9 and we need a few things to help make this extra special for teachers and staff. We will have a nacho bar on Tuesday & need crockpots of beef and chicken for our staff. Wednesday, we need desserts. Thursday, we need a few volunteers to run a popcorn bar. Friday will be our annual Chill-n-Grill. If you can help or donate to any of these events, please sign up using the link: https://bit.ly/2024EESVolSignup
3. If your child turned in a Talent Show form last week, we have tryouts after school on Thursday. We will try to do some of the tryouts during the day and we will notify families on Wednesday if they do not need to stay after school. If your child is trying out after school those will begin at 3:30. We have had 47 submissions but only the top 15 will be able to perform for the school on May 15th. Our goal for tryouts is to be completed by 4:30. We will notify the top 15 selected acts on Friday.
4. Yearbooks will be released on Thursday.
5. We have our annual ALS Coin War between grade levels on Thursday and Friday this week in honor of Legacy Teacher Rachel Greer. All proceeds will go to a student fighting ALS in Alcoa.
6. Rising 5th grade boys basketball tryouts are Wednesday at 5:30 in the lower gym at North Middle School.
7. Eaton & Highland Park Elementary present: Rising Stars BOYS 3rd & 4th Grade will have tryouts on May 7th. For more information & registration go to https://bit.ly/25BoysBasketball
8. This week’s parent tip is a reminder for tomorrow’s final Family Engagement Session of the dyslexia series from 7 -8:30 p.m.! This session will focus on defining skills and demonstrating easy, fun, but evidence-based, at-home activities that families can do to grow literacy skills.
