Good afternoon, Eaton families! Here is your Monday Minute for the week of September 29th.
1. No LAUNCH tomorrow, 9/30.
2. We are in week 3 of our Read-a-thon collection for our big fundraiser. We have several great prizes like a special parents’ night out, the royal court parade, and fast pass at the carnival. All donations are due Wednesday, October 15th to qualify for prizes.
3. This week in our school wide book study we are reading chapters 8-11 of “The Lemonade War”. In chapter 9, we see Jessie give Evan some pointers to improve his marble track. Let’s see if you can build one over fall break as a great stem idea. Evan’s had a funnel, flags, a ramp, and a cup, but you can use nearly anything! Ideas could be dominos, golf ball, rubber bands, books, straws, toilet paper tubes, or egg cartons. The main idea is to set up a sequence of events that start and continue down a path until the end. There are lots of great examples of these on YouTube. Here is a link to one that can easily be made with common household items: bit.ly/marbrun .
