Good afternoon, Eaton families! Here is your Monday Minute for the week of February 26th
1. We had an amazing turnout for Bingo for Books with over 200 people in attendance! Thank you for attending and making this night a success.
2. Our next PTO and Family Engagement event will be a “Multicultural Family Night” on April 12th. If you would like to come and set up a table to share your family’s history, please use this link to get more information. https://forms.office.com/r/yv9rpnftYV . 3. We have two weeks before spring break and several fun events planned. The Rocketeer will go home on Thursday with an updated calendar.
4. This week on Thursday we are asking students to wear green as we celebrate leap year.
5. Friday is the Fine Arts Showcase at Loudon High School and we will be sending singers and artist from our school to the event.
6. Next week is Read Across America week. Monday (3/4) will be pajama day. Wednesday (3/6) will be hat day. Thursday (3/7) will be favorite character day.
7. Tuesday, March 5th we do not have school due to our school being a voting location.
8. Thursday (3/7) we will have Kona Ice on site as an incentive to celebrate the end of the 3rd grading term. Students can get shaved ice for $3.00. Your teacher will be sending home information this week.
9. Thursday (3/7) will also be the 3rd grade musical at Central United Methodist Church at 6:30. We hope you will join us.
10. Friday (3/8) will be the end of term 3, spring individual pictures, and College and Career Day. We are asking students to dress for an interview and 3rd and 4th grade will have a career fair that afternoon.
11. We are still looking for community support for the Career Fair. It will take place on Friday, March 8th from 12:45-2:50 for 3rd & 4th grade students. Bingo for Books was a success tonight! Thank you to all the families who came out and supported our family night.
Cheyenne was our Friday guest announcer. We highlighted that America is like a quilt with many different patches. Today, remember everyone counts and everyone has their own special and unique place in the world.
Big thanks to our amazing school board for making our playground dreams come true! 🌟🙌 Thanks to your hard work & dedication, our students now have fantastic new playground equipment that ALL students can enjoy. Your commitment to enhancing our school is truly appreciated!
On National Bus Driver Appreciation day we have to celebrate the 🚌 unsung heroes who ensure our children get to school safely every day. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to keeping our kids safe on the road. You’re truly appreciated! Thank you School Board Member Melissa Browder, Eaton PTO, and our staff/students for sending lots of love to our drivers today!
Nora was our guest announcer this morning. On former President George Washington's birthday we highlighted his own personal rule that the language you use is a reflection of your character.
Corbyn was our guest announcer this morning. We highlighted quote from George Washington, "keep company with people of good character . . . It is better to be alone than in bad company."
Ella was a ray of sunshine this morning as our guest announcer. Our words of wisdom focused on how we all need to study history so we can learn more about how to be smart, brave, and fair to others.
Make plans to join us Friday night for Bingo for Books from 6:00-7:30. The event is free to play bingo and win books. The Book Fair will be open during the event and PTO will have a cash only concession area.

1. Friday is our Bingo for Books from 6:00-7:30. We hope you will join us for an evening of fun. It will be FREE to play bingo and win books. We will have cash only concessions set up if you want snacks while you play. During the event our book fair will also be open for shopping too!
2. Thursday is school bus driver appreciation day. If you have a note or sweet gift, please send it to school and we will get it to our bus drivers.

We were able to celebrate both our SRO's today since Officer Billy was home from training. Thank you Officer Brad and Officer Billy for taking great care of our school!

We hope you will join us this evening for the first grade program, "How the groundhog stole Valentine's Day" at Central United Methodist. The program will start at 6:30. Students need to arrive and come to the sanctuary at 6:00 and parents/public will be allowed in at 6:20.
This morning, Mrs. Humphrey’s Pre-K put their learning into action! Students used marshmallows and spaghetti noodles to build polygons (closed shapes with straight sides). This is one of the many activities to wrap up what they have learned about shapes, this semester.
Carolina did a great job as a guest announcer this morning. Her words of wisdom were focused on the miracle of love. She challenged everyone to send a card to someone who might need a little extra kindness.
Earlier today, there was a fire alarm activation at our school. Please rest assured that all students and staff followed our safety protocols and evacuated the building promptly.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our utmost priority, and we take all necessary precautions to ensure their safety at all times. We will be conducting a review of today's incident to identify any areas for improvement in our emergency procedures.
All students have safely been returned to class or lunch and the day will proceed normally.
