Good afternoon, Eaton families! Here is your Monday Minute for the week of October 13th.
1. It is Read-a-thon and Carnival week! We are about all the fun taking place this week.
2. Presale flyers went home today for the Carnival on Friday. You can prepay for an all-access wristband or punch card for the carnival booth and inflatables at a discounted price if purchased by end of day Thursday. We have 11 inflatables, tons of booths with games, 7 food trucks, and a DJ from 5-8 on Friday at track.
3. Read-a-thon will take place on Friday during the day. We will kick it off with live announcements, followed by our royal court parade for our top grade level winners, then guest readers will start. Also, during the day students will also take a honorary walk around the track in honor of Mary Lee Wampler Hitch.
4. Read-a-thon donations need to be turned in by Wednesday, October 15th to qualify for prizes. Remember this is our only fundraiser for the year and all the donations stay here at the school.
5. This week we will finish reading “The Lemonade War”. A question you can ask your student this week is how do you think Jessie and Evan might fight differently next time? What lessons did they learn?
6. Report Cards go home on Thursday. Please return them signed on Friday.
7. We have several opportunities on Friday for volunteering. We also have hearing screenings and a November staff appreciation luncheon that could use your help. If you are interested in volunteering check out the signup link for already planned opportunities: bit.ly/2024EESVolSignup
8. Parent Tip: This week we are sharing a video you could watch with your child to start a conversation about what to do when you feel stress. Jane has a big test coming up, and did we mention a science fair project too??
