Good afternoon, Eaton families! Here is your Monday Minute for the week of November 10th.
1. No LAUNCH Thursday, November 13th due to conferences
2. We have several opportunities for volunteering. We are still in need of a few volunteers to help with our November staff appreciation luncheon. If you are interested in volunteering check out the signup link for already planned opportunities: https://bit.ly/25-26EESVolSignup .
3. Veteran’s day is tomorrow, so wear red, white, and blue to school. We will host a Veteran’s Day parade at 10:00 with North Middle School. We ask that our Veteran’s line up at Central United Methodist at 9:45 to drive thru our campus allowing our students to thank you for our service. Please make sure to send your students with jackets tomorrow.
4. Parent/Teacher Conferences are on Thursday. We will be selling spirit wear that evening. We will have shirts, sweatshirts, cups, trucker hats, and winter hats. We do have limited stock so it will be first come.
5. The Tennessee General Assembly passed Tenn. Code Ann. 49-6-1016, a law requiring the instruction of firearm safety in schools. This states that all local education agencies (LEA) shall provide age-appropriate and grade-appropriate instruction annually. This instruction is strictly for safety purposes and not how to use a firearm. Flyers went home today with more information, and our School Resource officer will provide a grade level assembly at the end of the month.
6. Parent Tip: This week we just want to share two activities you can do with your child at home and send them back to school. We are currently accepting Disguise a Turkey projects (https://aptg.co/-VnXKZ ). Students can present them to their class and then bring them to the office where we will hang them in the foyer. Send them before November 21st. The second option is a “Monster Madness” entry form (https://aptg.co/THG4Fp) where your child can be creative by drawing a monster, crazy creation, or mythical creature. We will be submitting these into a Young Artist competition. We need these submissions by December 12th.
Have a great week!

Our students explored spider-themed reading, writing, and science while Boo-Boo stayed calm and curious in her habitat, letting everyone observe her gentleness up close.
A sweet, hands-on way to build knowledge and bravery!
