Good afternoon, Eaton families! Here is your Monday Minute for the week of December 1st.
1. We started our Winter Benchmark today. We are excited to see how much our students have grown during the first semester.
2. Tomorrow is “Giving Tuesday” and we are collecting new or gently used towels and blankets for the homeless and animal shelters. We would love to fill our foyer up with these items tomorrow.
3. There is NO LAUNCH tomorrow due to teacher meetings
.
4. We have several opportunities for volunteering. If you are interested in volunteering or donating check out the signup link for already planned opportunities: https://bit.ly/25-26EESVolSignup . We are in the greatest need for donations for our dip-licious bar (ideas: https://www.unexpectedlydomestic.com/christmas-dips/ ) for our staff on Thursday, December 11th as a special snack appreciation and donations (ideas: https://bit.ly/EES2025ElfHunt ) for the staff elf hunt on Friday, December 12th.
5. Rocketeer went home last week. Here is the link: https://aptg.co/nXJHV7
6. Random Acts of Kindness Bingo: Students who create a Bingo can bring it to the office for a prize. https://aptg.co/xHCB3J
7. Principals Night In is scheduled for Monday, December 8th from 6-7 in the cafeteria. The holidays are coming, and kids will be spending more time online. Detective Carver will share helpful tips and advice to keep your children safe on the internet, just in time for the holiday season. We will also have childcare available. Don’t miss this opportunity!
8. Santa Pictures will take place on Thursday and Friday this week. Your child’s teacher should reach out with the specific day.
9. Friday there will be make-up fall pictures for anyone who missed last month or needs their picture redone.
10. Candy Grams start next week for a quarter. Students can send them to anyone in the school during lunchtime. We would appreciate donations of mini candy canes to attach to the candy grams.
11. Parent Tip: Last week we shared Jane the Brain and how she dealt with frustration. This week we want to share another helpful hit from Jane the Brain about upset reset. Sadness is a feeling that affects lots of different areas of the brain and it can change how we work through our emotions. See how she learns to cope with sadness: https://youtu.be/rasvHAWjBj0
Have a great week!

The holidays are coming, and kids will be spending more time online. Let’s make sure they’re safe!
